10 years ago Paul van Beers and I started this “out of the box” concept for the poorest of the poor in Africa.  An unbreakable handpomp and bottles transported in the pipes for the community. In the beginning we were ignored, laughed at and nobody believed in this concept.  We struggled, we fought, paddling against the current Paul called it. We are now pumping water and delivering bottles in more then 30 countries across Africa. We won Paul and we miss you! Workout Amsterdam x Join the Pipe

Onlangs zijn wij een nieuwe samenwerking gestart met Workout Amsterdam. Workout Amsterdam organiseert het hele jaar door buiten workouts in de verschillende parken van Amsterdam. Dit doen ze voor ieder niveau, voor zowel individuen als bedrijven. 

Naast workouts kun je op hun website ook terecht voor informatie en leuke blogs rondom gezond eten en een gezonde leefstijl. Dit sluit natuurlijk mooi aan bij ons initiatief en daarom zijn wij een samenwerking gestart. 

Bij aankoop van een Workout Pass of membership krijg je een Join the Pipe BOGO-Bottle met Workout Amsterdam logo. Ook zal Workout Amsterdam onze producten meenemen in hun vitaliteitsverhaal naar bedrijven. Proost op een mooie samenwerking!

Spar University Delft joins the Pipe

Sinds enige tijd zijn onze tappunten en herbruikbare flessen ook te vinden in de winkels van Spar University. Gisteren opende Spar University Delft haar deuren en kan je ook daar vanaf nu de Spar University BOGO-Bottle kopen en vullen met heerlijk kraanwater!

100ste tappunt op BrabantWater gebied geopend

Op WereldWaterdag is het 100ste openbare water tappunt in BrabantWater gebied geopend in Breda. Tevens gaat Breda dit jaar nog 30 nieuwe water tappunten aanleggen. Voor 2 van deze tappunten is nog geen locatie vastgesteld, dus suggesties zijn welkom bij de gemeente Breda. 

Op naar de volgende 100 voor Brabant! 

Bottles in Mombasa, Kenya

De kinderen van de St. Peters the Rock school Mombasa in Kenia hebben onze flessen ontvangen. Op deze school zitten kinderen met en zonder een beperking. 
Stichting Dutch Down Support Foundation heeft deze school bezocht om de 'kleine stapjes' methode aan de leerkrachten over te dragen. Een onderdeel van deze methode is zelfredzaamheid en hygiene. Dat sluit mooi aan bij ons initiatief en dus komen onze flessen daar mooi van pas!

Introducing the Nairobi Bottle!

Begin januari hebben we een nieuwe fles geïntroduceerd: The Nairobi Bottle. Een stylisch vormgegeven fles met 3D-Design. Net als onze andere flessen is ook deze gemaakt van BPA-vrij plastic, makkelijk personaliseerbaar en vaatwasser bestendig.  Met de opbrengst van de fles zetten we city clean-ups op. Dit bestaat uit de levering van vuilniszakken, financiering van de lokale afval verzameling en het verwijderen van het verzamelde afval naar stortplaatsen. Hiermee wordt voorkomen dat het afval in de rivieren terechtkomt en naar de zee stroomt. Op deze manier willen we de plastic soep verminderen. Bekijk ons filmpje voor het verhaal achter onze fles: 

Internationale beurzen on tap!

Het beurzen seizoen is in volle gang en ook wij doen daar graag aan mee.

We hebben afgelopen maand heel wat steden in Europa aangedaan voor internationale beurzen. We zijn begonnen op de Horecava in Amsterdam en tegelijkertijd stonden we op de PI in Dusseldorf. Deze beurzen werden gevolgd door de Grune Woche in Berlijn. Ook hebben wij de Fransen kennis laten maken met onze producten op de CTCO in Lyon. Voor komende week staat de Ambiente in Frankfurt nog op onze planning. 

Container Project Malawi and Mozambique

In cooperation with De Baanderij and Foundation Burgland Charitas 2 containers were sent to Mozambique and Malawi. A 20 feet container with computers, metalworking machines, a variety of worktools and Join the Pipe bottles was sent to Malawai. A 40 feet container with school furniture, computers and Join the Pipe bottles was sent to Mozambique. Students can now safely drink water without using their unwashed hands and without spilling water.

Join the Pipe in New Delhi!

India and The Netherlands launched the first Colourfield at JLN Stadium in New Delhi. Colourfield is a multi-functional, sustainable, mini sports arena that combines a social sports education program with a high level innovative multi-sports facility, including Greensource and tap stations of Join the Pipe. Cheers to drinking and playing together!

DreamTeam Football Academy Rwanda

HT Zwijnaarde Belgium donated the BOGO-bottles to all the football players of the academy in Rwanda. A sustainable product to create less waste and provide water during the sport activities. 

Gratis drinkwater voor 2500 beroepsonderwijs studenten in Duitsland

Het Friedrich-List-Berufskollegs in Bonn in Duitsland heeft een Join the Pipe tappunt geopend op het schoolplein. Zij zijn hiermee de eerste in Bonn met een kraanwater tappunt. Ook kregen alle scholieren een herbruikbare BOGO-Bottle. Op deze manier wil de school aan de ene kant de leerlingen stimuleren om voldoende water te drinken en aan de andere kant iets bijdragen aan de watervoorziening in Afrika.  

Opening eerste speciale Cruyff Court

Wij zijn super trots op het eerste speciale Cruyff Court dat woensdag is geopend bij het Westerhonk in Monster. Mede dankzij de Postcode loterij kunnen alle kinderen nu sporten en hun dorst lessen met gezond kraanwater. Cheers! 

United Nations join the Pipe

El Nino High-level Event in New York on tap 

Our Join the Pipe BOGO-Bottles were present at the El Nino High-level Event of the United Nations. The High-level Event aims to call attention to the people around the world affected by severe El Nino-linked drought and climate impacts, mobilizing an integrated response that takes preparedness for future weather events into account. The total amount needed to address urgent El Nino-linked humanitarian needs globally stands at USD $5 billion. Only one-third of this amount has been raised so far. Our BOGO-Bottles were a symbolic present for all the members of the event to show the funding gap and it also served as a call to action.  

Feestelijke opening kraanwatertappunt op basisschool de Sporckt

Woensdag 21 september heeft basisschool de Sporckt in Tilburg een Join the Pipe watertappunt op het schoolplein geopend. Bij deze feestelijke opening kregen alle leerlingen ook een Join the Pipe BOGO-Bottle. Deze herbruikbare kraanwaterfles werd aangeboden door het JOGG (Jongeren Op Gezond Gewicht). De organisatie die zich  inzet om kinderen en jongeren bewust te maken van een gezonde leefstijl door bijvoorbeeld het drinken van kraanwater te stimuleren. 

Waterbottles for schoolchildren in Ghana

Several schoolchildren in Ghana got reusable BOGO-bottles. The children of the Obiri Yeboah Basic School used to have one cup to drink water from. Now all the children have their own Join the Pipe BOGO-bottle so they can safely drink water and take it with them.

Canada on tap!

The City of Abbotsford opened the first Join the Pipe tap water station on Canadian ground! The tap can be found in the J.A. Spud Murphy Park in Abbotsford.

Our first tap water station in Macedonia

Thanks to our partner Brabant Water we have opened the first tap water station in Macedonia! The tap can be found on a square in the centre of Bosilovo. Feel free to fill up your bottle!

Latin America Joins the Pipe!

Latin America Joins the Pipe!

Primeur! Op 13 november 2015 is het eerste Join the Pipe kraanwater tappunt in Latijns Amerika feestelijk geopend. In samenwerking met Brabant Water is het tappunt gedoneerd aan de stad in Matagalpa in Nicaragua. Het tappunt staat in het Parque Los Monos. 

We are proud to announce that on the 13th of november 2015 we've opened our first tap water station in Latin Amarica. The tap station is donated to the city of Matagalpa in Nicaragua in cooperation with the Dutch watercompany Brabant Water. The tap water station is situated in Parque Los Monos.

Join the Pipe is educating and facilitating African school children to use bottles to drink water promoting hygiene and save water wasted due to spillage.

Reduce your chances of catching an infection by using an bottle. We use this combination on the Bukura Secondary School and the Professor Sarungi Secondary SchoolTanzania.

514 basisscholen proosten op de Kraanwaterdag!

514 basisscholen in Nederland voeren een Kraanwaterdag in, een vaste dag in de week waarop iedereen op school alleen kraanwater drinkt. Een initatief van Vitens in samenwerking met Brabant Water, het JOGG en Join the Pipe!

Met onze duurzame Join the Pipe 'KraanwaterGraag' fles kunnen ze echter elke dag kraanwater drinken. Alle leerlingen van de deelnemende klassen hebben onze flessen ontvangen! In Ermelo is de dag feestelijk gelanceerd met het kraanwater lied. Check hem hier.

Aanloop naar de Grand Depart

Woensdag 1 juli gaat de Grand Depart van de Tour de France van start in Utrecht. In aanloop naar de tour zijn er op verschillende plekken in Utrecht Join the Pipe kraanwater tappunten geplaatst en geopend. Ook op de Waterwinmarkt in Terwijde werd de opening van het tappunt op feestelijke wijze gevierd.

DANCING ON TAP!

Wat een mooi feestje was het In the Cloud Festival afgelopen zaterdag! 

Met meerdere kraanwatertappunten en exclusieve In the Cloud kraanwaterflessen waren wij goed vertegenwoordigd op het festival. Het eerste dansfeest op kraanwater in Zandvoort aan Zee. 

Kraanwater Vierdaagse 2015 van start.

Basisschool de Kleine Reus uit Amsterdam heeft afgelopen week de Kraanwater Vierdaagse gelopen.
Elke leerling kreeg een herbruikbare kraanwaterfles en een refill bij het tappunt om de dorst te lessen.
Na 4 avonden werden de leerlingen beloond met een Join the Pipe Kraanwater Vierdaagse Pin.
