Opening jointhepipe.org tap stations!

On World Water Day, March 22, 2011, two Jointhepipe.org tap stations were officially opened on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam and at the Janskerkhof in Utrecht. For each tap water station that Jointhepipe.org places in the Netherlands, a water pump in a developing country is financed. The Center City District alderman of Amsterdam, Mrs. Jeanine Pinxteren, conducted the opening of the tap water station on the Leidseplein. Together with co-founder of Jointhepipe.org, Lorenzo de Rita, she walked along the "Blue carpet" and filled her bottle with delicious Amsterdam tap water. The placement of the tap water station on the Leidseplein was realised in collaboration with TEDxAmsterdam and the City of Amsterdam. Students also made the opening possible from the University of Amsterdam that follow the course Sustainable Leadership & Entrepreneurship, and who together form the platform The Next Generation.

At Janskerkhof in Utrecht, Mirjam de Rijk, alderman City of Utrecht, unveiled the Jointhepipe.org tapwater station together with Jean Marc Deun, owner of Lifestyle Salon Laurent. This salon, from all Aveda slaons in the Benelux, sold the JTP bottles during Aveda Earth Month 2010, and thus won a tap water station. He then donated this tap water station to the City of Utrecht. We would like to thank sven from the next generation for the photos.
